Redundancy Equivalence in Translation from the Perspective of the Information Theory

Redundancy is a universal characteristic of any language and an important guarantee of a successful communication. Translation is a process of inter-lingual communication and involves information transmission. When translating,the translator has to balance the degree of redundancy between the source language and the target language so as to achieve redundancy equivalence,which is an essential aspect of dynamic equivalence.
