Development and Design of Information System for County-level Farmland Classification

In order to enhance the automation of county-level farmland classification as well as information management of the outcome,this paper develops a county-level farmland classification information system based on GIS.In the design of the system, the object-oriented programming language Visual Basic.Net is used for the secondary development of MapGIS coupled with Access database to achieve farmland classification and results-based management features modules,thus providing a new mode and means for the outcome of county level farmland information management.The application of the system to farmland classification in Bayan County,Heilongjiang Province,indicates that the system,structure design and system operation can improve automation degree of farmland classification and realize information management of the classification outcome data.
