Estimation of Available Bandwidth in Wireless Ad Hoc Multimedia Networks

Transmission of multimedia traffic with high performance requirement over wireless Ad hoc network needs to deploy some QoS routing admission control mechanisms in this kind of networks.The computation of path available bandwidth is core component of any QoS routing algorithm.Because 802.11 is a kind of CSMA based transmission media,there exists intra-flow and inter-flow interferences in multi-hop Ad hoc networks,built on 802.11;and estimation of available bandwidth in these kinds of networks must be specially designed.Based on idea of[2],which has been validated by simulation,and according to our real experiments,a modification of algorithm in[2],and a simple and practically feasible algorithm is also given in this paper,and validated by experiments in our DSR test-bed.
