Performance Analysis of Moment-based Blind SNR Estimation Algorithm

In wireless digital communications,many algorithms require knowledge of the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) for optimal performance.This paper investigates non-data-aided(NDA) SNR estimation for PSK and QAM transmission over additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) channels.The SNR estimation based on higher than four-order moments performs better for the QAM signals.And two algorithms based on higher-order moments are proposed.Simulation results show it has better performance than moment-based blind SNR estimator,such as second-and fourth-order moment's estimator.
