Fuzzy sliding-mode control for higher-order SISO nonlinear systems

Fuzzy control methods based on the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models do not work well for higher-order single-input single-output nonlinear systems.A fuzzy sliding-mode control method using an multi-input single-output fuzzy controller was developed to provide closed-loop global asymptotic stability of the controlled system.In addition,small modification of the control formula gives effect controll of systems with model uncertainties to ensure the robust stability of the closed-loop system.An example of the simple design procedure with few design parameters shows the excellent control performance for higher-order control problems.
