Whether we analyse r 's pronunciation, grammar and semantic meaning, etc. in xr, which is referring to the affix at the level of modern Chinese, or we analyse the evolution of xr, we have proved that r is a morpheme. The morpheme of r has such functions as phonetic mark, grammatical mark, usage mark and semantic meaning marks by analysing the part of speech of r in xr and grammatical function in xr and the whole function of xr, the above-mentioned functions tend to do alternately and play a role side by side.
