Implementation of a Feature-based Non-planar Database for Urban Traffic Networks
Lu Feng · 2002
It is discussed in detail how to implement feature-based non-planar topology for traffic networks to makes up the deficiency of geo-relational design method and planar graph based link-node data structure. The integrated lane is taken as the basic modeling unit and topological information is separated from geometry and managed as an independent information layer within the holistic framework of feature based GIS. Two cases show the implementation of non-planar database for traffic network with dynamic segmentation, sequential pointer operation and the object-oriented method.
