Discussion on the Qualitative Characters of Fresh-eating Waxy Corn

At present,most waxy corn is mainly used as fresh food,but few of waxy corn cultivars meet the requirment of fresh food,the breeders do not pay great attention to the characters of waxy corn,and it greatly impact the fresh characters and commercial value. The components and evaluation about quality and the research advances are reviewed. It is an important research direction of waxy corn breeding and industrial development to explore the identification standards and detection techniques,expand germplasm resources,improve quality by biotechnology,and focus on the inheritance law of the waxy corn in China.
