A light pattern design for spacetime stereo

Guangjun Zhang · Optical Technique · 2007

Spacetime stereo is a novel technique for three dimensions(3D) reconstruction, which uses active illumination to change the intensities of images and implements stereo matching by comparing the image sequence during a period of time.Aiming at the characteristic of spacetime stereo,a light pattern, which consists of multi-level dual saw-tooth stripe gray light changing monotonously in one-dimension,is designed to increase the robustness of the technique. The experiment results of 3D reconstruction validate the effective of the light pattern.
