To overcome the difficulty to understand source code, considering the characteristics of modern software development aid tools, code navigation and management tools are deeply analyzed and investigated. For the widely-used Java language, an interactive software development aid tool called Javigator is designed and implemented, which targeted on Java code navigation and of other management functions, such as code abstraction. As a plug-in of Eclipse, it helps developers quickly read and understand programs, and support fast test and reuse for interested codes. As a convenient tool with flexibility, it significantly decreases the difficulty of understanding and managing code and improves the efficiency of development.
