Fengqing Qin, Xiaohai He · Journal of Yibin University · 2006
The novel thought of fractal image coding technology has thoroughly broken through the theoretical framework of traditional coding methods. The technology inaugurates a new approach for image coding and becomes one of the up-to- date methods in image compression field. In this article, the history and present status of the development of fractal image compression are studied;the characteristic and deficiency of fractal image compression are analyzed;some better methods are given out.
