Observation and Instrument of strong earthquake motion in Hydroelectric Engineering

The function of strong earthquake motion observation in the practice of hydroelectric engineering is expatiated in this paper. Status in quo and progress of strong earthquake observation in the field of hydroelectric engineering, the basic principles, characteristics, technology level and results of strong earthquake motion observing instruments are introduced. Some essential problems and the developing trend in the observation of strong earthquake motion for hydroelectric engineering are put forward.
