Metadata Theories and Their Application to the Sharing of Huitong Forest Ecosystem Information

To improve the level of data management and achieve the goal of data exchange and information sharing,this paper established a sharing platform of metadata-based forest ecosystem information by analyzing some main problems in Eco-DBMS and using web database technology and java programming language,based on a database management system of Huitong forest ecosystem research,metadata theories and national metadata standards for ecological data(GB/T 20533-2006).It introduced metadata theories,analyzed the necessity of information sharing platform construction and its main functions,and conducted the application of metadata to the sharing of Huitong forest ecosystem information.We suggest that this platform be widely used in various fields of ecosystem research.
