A transferring cost based cache replacement algorithm for streaming media and its performance evaluation

We propose a cache replacement algorithm for streaming media——average transferring cost based small cache utility (ATCB_SCU) algorithm. We put forward a group of metricsaverage transferring cost, center servers bandwidth consumed and computing overheadto evaluate the efficiency of a cache replacement algorithm. Simulation results show that, ATCB_SCU outperforms other algorithms due to its less transferring cost, bandwidth consumed and computing overhead.
