In the recent years, many researchers make use of chaos-based FM signal for range-Doppler imaging, and it is discovered that the performance of Tent RFM signal is improved further in the investigation. In this paper, the method of improved Tent RFM signal is presented, which take it into complex multi-segment system by increasing its segments, and gives the mathematical definition of the type and the performance of the algorithm, such as large Lyapunov exponent, broadband noise characteristics, good time autocorrelation and thumbtack-like ambiguity function. From the analysis and results of performance simulation, the Tent RFM signal is improved effect obviously in a multipath propagation environment,it will have a good prospect in the high-resolution imaging radar.
