Elastic medical image registration based on JS measure and multilevel B-spline approxmation

In order to obtain the local irregular geometric deformation of registering medical image precisely,a new elastic registration method based on landmark points is proposed.Firstly Jensen-Schur measure is used to coarsely align two images,and then used to automatically get exact landmark points.At last the accurate elastic registration is achieved by multilevel B-spline approximation algorithm with B-spline refinement optimization,which can balance the approximation precision and smoothness.Experimental results show that the proposed landmarks extraction method can produce accurate feature point pairs to present local irregular deformation,and the new registration method can obtain smooth and accurate elastic registration transformation.
