Daubechies wavelet method in a certain basin of northeast

The separation of magnetic and gravity field is essential to the explanation of gravity and magnetic anomalies. In this paper,the concept of Daubechies wavelet is studied. Then, the theory to the explanation of practical gravity and magnetic field (a certain basin of Northeast) is applied. Firstly, we decompose the gravity and magnetic anomaly data within different order numbers of Daubechies, using logarithmic power spectrum to estimate the field source depth. On the whole, the field source depth which is decomposed is equal to the basin’s basement depth. The result shows that Daubechies wavelet in the separation of magnetic and gravity field has a good effect.
