Function point analysis's application in software development

Software measurement is a key factor in managing,controlling and improving software development process.But software size concept is neither well understanded nor widely applied.Comparing with code line,function point is exact and coherent.Function point analysis has been proven as a reliable method for measuring size of computer software.In addition to measuring output,function point analysis is extremely useful in estimating projects,managing change of scope,measuring productivity,and communicating func-tional requirements.
