An Impulse Noise Removal Algorithm Based on Pulse Coupled Neural Network

In the process of impulse noise image,traditional filtering algorithms may result in image blurring or loss of image details.On the basis of the analysis of characteristics of impulse noise and the internal mechanism of pulse coupled neural network(PCNN),this paper proposes an impulse noise filtering approach,which is base on PCNN and edge information.The suspected noise of the image point is founded out through PCNN,the location of pixels is analyzed and then different templates are used for median filtering adaptively,the specific impulse noise filtering method is obtained.The experimental results show that this method not only can effectively remove impulse noise in the image,but also well protect the details image.
