Application of Infrared Image Processing in Banknote Identification

Aiming at the characters of infrared image of banknote,a new method of banknote identification was proposed.Firstly,an appropriate threshold algorithm was designed,which was used to segment the image.Then,the concavo-convex information was revealed by processing the segmented image based on morphology operation.The experimental results show that the method is stable and accurate.This method complements the deficiency of current banknote verifiers that could not detect the anti-counterfeit point of the Intaglio Printing.
