Research on Off-Line Extraction and Recognition of the Form Information for Engineering Drawings

The title block and bill of material in engineering drawings are important data source for Product Data Management system(PDM).In order to automatically extract these data and realize the integration of CADPDM,an off-line automatic extracting form information method is put forward.Analyzing the characteristics of the forms in the engineering drawings,the sort work elements of the system is put forward.The system structure,workflow,function modules and key technologies are described.The software based on the method mentioned above is developed and used in practice.
