This paper investigates the synchronization problem for a class of general complex dynamical networks with couplings delays and delays in the dynamical nodes by adaptive periodically intermittent control.Based on a general model of delayed complex networks,by using the Lyapunov stability theory combined with the method of the adaptive control, pinning control and periodically intermittent control, some less conservative criteria are derived for the global exponential synchronization of the delayed complex networks. And several corresponding adaptive feedback synchronization controllers and pinning controllers are designed respectively. These controllers have strong robustness against the coupling strength and the topological structure of the network. Finally, using the delayed nonlinear system as the nodes of the networks, the numerical example of the delayed complex networks is given to demonstrate the effectiveness and correctness of the control strategy.
