Analysis of acoustic emission signals from martensite transformation process based on information entropy

Hongbin Yao · Heat treatment of metals · 2012

Based on the theory of information entropy, acoustic emission(AE) signals of martensite generated during the process of its phase transition was studied. One kind of accurate descriptive method was put forward by collecting the wavelet packet energy spectrum entropy, analyzing information of energy distribution under frequency domain, then extracting different signals' energy spectrum entropy eigenvalue and classifying the parameters by using the energy spectrum entropy eigenvalue as the amplitude spectrum's sub-interval under gibbs entropy of time domain analyzing. The results show that the eigenvalues of information entropy can accurately evaluate the variation of AE signals generated from martensite transformation.
