Weighted Histogram Color Image Retrieval Based on Color Complexity Measure

According to the human visual system(HVS), a weighted histogram color image retrieval based on color complexity measure(CCM) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the color complexity measure(CCM) of pixels are calculated, which reflecting the image local variation. Secondly, all pixels are weighed by the color complexity measure, and the weighted histogram are cumulated. Finally, the similarity between color images is computed by using the weighted histogram. Experimental experiments, including comparisons with state-of-the-arts, show the effectiveness of our algorithm in improving the retrieval performance.
