LI Er-tao · Journal of Taiyuan University of Technology · 2010

Pragmatic transfer has been explored in Chinese and English sentence types with imperative function.Sentence types execute declarative, interrogative, imperative or exclamatory functions. Each sentence type usually correlates with the corresponding sentence function. However, sometimes sentence types are intersected with sentence functions. From the perspective of the Theory of Clausal Government, the author will make a deep and systematic analysis of typical sentences that express imperative function, based on the fact of Chinese and English grammar,so as to explore the inner reason why this kind of phenomenon comes into being, and to make a comparative analysis of pragmatic differences among different sentence types.
