BER Performance Analysis of Cooperative Diversity in Multi-user SIMO-OFDM

The cooperative diversity enables single-antenna mobiles in a multi-user environment to share their antennas so that each mobile is served by a virtual multiple antenna transmitter/receiver.In this paper, two cooperative transmission schemes, that is,amplify-forward and decode-forward in multi-user SIMO-OFDM system are described first. And then,a transmission scheme called selective relay is proposed, which depends on whether the path-loss exits or not between the source and destination.Theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that the better BER performance could be achieved by this selection of cooperative transmission according to the channel state information.
