Design of an 80-Bit Embedded Transcendental Function Calculator

The CORDIC algorithm based on shift and add operations is the simplest algorithm of the transcendental function. The CORDIC working mode and application detail are presented in this paper, and an 80-bit embedded calculator for the transcendental function is designed. The ideas for the design of the calculator, its architecture and specific units are described in detail. Software simulations are made and the results are given.
