Uncertain Data Management Technologies in RFID

The study on uncertain data management is one of the hot topics amongst the database domain all over the world.As an important feature of RFID(radio frequency identification)systems,uncertainty winds through the whole life cycle of RFID applications.In RFID systems,there are two kinds of uncertainty.Objective uncertainty is the immediate cause of uncertainty in RFID system which is due to the inaccuracy and incompletion of raw data.Subjective uncertainty is the result of filling missing data,inferring tag location,extracting event semantic and estimating event happening time.This paper summarizes the sources of data uncertainty in RFID system,makes a survey for the state of art in RFID uncertain data management,and finally points out challenges.
