A Simple Method to Remove Impulse Noise from Images

The traditional method of median filter used to remove the impulse noise has disadvantages.In this paper,a new method to detect a noise pixel is proposed,which is implemented before adaptive filtering.The proposed algorithm can remove the impulse noise effectively with relatively small calculation and high peak sig-nal to noise ratio(PSNR).Simulation results show the feasibility of this method.
