Comparative Study on the Performances of Bayesian Classification and LVQ Neural Network

Classification problem is important in the field of pattern recognition and data mining.Bayesian classification is the classical classification algorithm;LVQ neural network has a wide range of research and application.It is very important to select an efficient and stable classification algorithm in actual application.This paper selects three datasets in UCI machine learning Repository,to do an experimental study on classification accuracy,stability,classification efficiency on the bayesian classification and LVQ neural network.The experiment results show that bayesian classification has a higher classification accuracy,stability and classification efficiency than LVQ neural network.The results provide reference to selecting one of the two classification algorithms.
