Research of Bolts Geometry Detection Method Based on Machine Vision Technology

The shape of bolt has an important role in ensuring its quality. According to the bolt shape features, a new detecting process is de-signed and a new detecting software which is based on VC6.0 is developed. Taking the bolt geometric characteristics into consideration, pa-rameters including area, perimeter, cancroid and so on are selected as criteria. At the same time, the ways of measuring bolt head and screw diameter are introduced. The experiments indicate that these parameters and detection methods can identify the bolt shape defects effectively.
