Fast intra prediction algorithm applied in base layer

Based on the newest coding features,we propose a fast intra prediction algorithm which is very suitable for base layer coding.The DCT coefficients are calcalated for each 8×8 block in a marcoblock,and an appropriate coding block mode is selected according to texture complexity,and adaptively different fast direction mode selection algorithms are adopted for different block sizes.Then,based on each block's size and texture complexity,the proposed algorithm intelligently uses different all zero block detection methods and early termination strategies.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is so practical,and the encoding speed has been doubled while the quality of a reconstructed picture is nearly not decreased.
