In order to meet the present multi-service transmission need, the promotion of taking SDH as the foundation of city territory transmission network, use the contrastive method between advantages and disadvantages of city territory transmission network and analyzes the present state of building the city territory transmission network as well as the merits and limitations of the optical fiber straight company network of the multi-service transmission platform of the city territory DWDM and of RPR .It illustrats how to develop the RPR design-gradually with MSTP the main equipment and city territory DWDM the secondary equipment, which will realize the smooth promotion of network and protect effectively the present investment of the business section .
