Application of Data Mining in Short Message Spam Filtering

Mobile telecommunication is overrun with short message spam in China. Based on the short message service(SMS) platform of some telecom enterprise, a closed loop short message spam filtering system with the aid of the statistical analysis and the data mining technology was proposed. The system updates filtering rules based on real time short message data and finds suspicious short message sender by scoring the user. Appling the system to the telecom enterprise, the acquires attributes set acquired to identify short message spam and gains good effect by using the boosting arithmetic to extract filtering rules.
