The Neural Network of Semantic Processing in Sentence Comprehension:Hotspot Issues and Future Direction

There are different models accounting for the neural network of semantic processing in sentence comprehension.Among them,the MUC model,BAIS model and N400 model are three main ones.In all these models,discussions have been focused on the conflicts about the time course of different semantic processes,the function of important brain regions and the interaction pattern between various regions.In future studies,the concept of semantic integration needs a more accurate definition.Besides,semantic processes need to be studied beyond the traditional framework that is based on N400 studies.There is also a need of more attention to the integration of and the interaction between different brain regions,and to the studies combining multiple imaging methods in this field.
