Point-to-Point 100 Mbit/s Access Technology over Cable Network

A novel EoC(Ethernet over Coax) technology P2P-ECAN(Point-to-Point Ethernet Coax Access Network) isproposed and implemented. Combing the star topology of passive EoC and the high spectrum utility of active EoC,P2P-ECAN can achieve over 100 Mbit/s broadband access for each subscriber. The detailed analysis of the structureof the system, key technologies are presented. Moreover, the system performance is tested. The experimental resultsprove that the technology features with low coast, broad bandwidth, low latency, and fully meet the requirement ofaccess network over cable TV.
