Regional Water Resources Management System Based on GIS

Because of its powerful ability to handle spatial data,the Geographic Information System(GIS)provides an over and high-effective tool for water resources management.Based on the functions of GIS and the practice of water resources management,the practicability and the superiority of combinative application are analyzed,and then the methodology and construction of the water resources management system based on GIS are presented in this paper by a case study in Zhaoxiang rural area,Shanghai.The wide prospects of application in the water resources system modeling and the assistant decision support are also discussed.
