A Method of Log Data Time-frequency Characteristics Stratum Correlation and Its Application

Stratum correlation is the basic geological research in developing oilfields,the correlation precision and correction have close relation with whether some new pay zones could be found or not.Therefore,proposed is a wavelet time-frequency analysis method for stratum correlation interpretation.With one-dimensional CWT in the log data processing,we get wavelet time-frequency characteristics of different scales,that is,to scale stratum of all levels and control the correlation of stratum of all levels by the cycle changes of frequency,including comparison and tracking of small layer,sand layer group and single sand group.The method is tested in Changqing oilfield.Application results show that the method is effective.
