New method of analyzing log of mail server

A lot of data about services are recorded exactly in network logs in time which should be the important source focused by network administrators. It is not a good idea to analyze the data of the system by people themselves because of much more data. In this paper, a method that uses statistic and data()mining technology to analyze the log was suggested. The method is used to produce the distributing chart of events, the periodic mode of events and the outlier data.
