Simulation and Analysis of Congestion Control Adaptation System-targeted LDoS Attack

Low-rate DoS attack is a novel category of DoS attack,aiming at exploiting the adaptive behavior exhibited by congestion control systems.Different from traditional flooding DoS attacks,LDoS can make serious destroy on the victim with higher efficiency and worse detectability.For the limitation of traditional attack simulator NS2,a new method of modeling attack system was proposed based on Color Petri Nets.CPN Tools,a Hierarchical timed Colored Petri net simulation tool was deployed for modeling the attack effect and the targeted system behavior.According to the result of simulation,a defense scheme based on Adaptative Resource Investment was developed.Simulation experiments show that this scheme can reduce the impact of LDoS attack on targeted system efficiently.
