Design of AVS Fast Mode Decision Based on Image Block Row/Column Pipeline

A design of fast mode decision based on image block row/column pipeline is provided in this paper.Firstly,a method of fast mode decision is presented according to the features and dependence of different modes in AVS.Secondly,the usual block pipeline is divided into row/column pipeline to minimize the idle cycle of all the processing modules in the pipeline.Finally,the 1 920×1 080 high definition video encoding 30 frames per second with a system frequency of 135 MHz is implemented,and the performance is improved 1.5 times compared with block pipeline.
