High-resolution Image Compression System Based on FPGA and ARM

The framework and functions of the high-resolution image compression system are introduced in this paper.The system can compress images obtained from VGA/DVI signals at 17 frames per second,with resolution of 1 600×1 200×24bit.Experimental results indicate that this system has similar performance compared with JPEG2000 in coding an image at different bit rates.
