Optimized Matching MMSE Delay Estimation Algorithms in DS-CDMA System

Based on the analyses on the characteristics of MMSE estimation algorithms, optimized matching and combining MMSE sense algorithms are proposed for single user delay estimation in DS-CDMA communication systems. Using partial estimation, partial matched filtering and optimal combination techniques for the user code delayed mixture vector, the algorithms solve the amplitude mismatching problems which degrading performance in conventional MMSE methods. Theoretical analyses and simulation results show that the new algorithms outperform conventional MMSE, MUSIC and sliding correlation methods.
