Research on CDN Video Content Delivery Technology in CCN

Zhe Zhang · Computer engineering & Software · 2015

With the development of Internet, network use has evolved to be dominated by content distribution and retrieval. And providing video streaming services to large-scale users on the Internet has become one of the most popular applications, account for a large part of the network traffic. The huge traffic becomes the major challenge for network operators. CCN is a new content-centric network architecture which introduces cache mechanism and requesting aggregation on routers to optimize content distribution. CDN in old Internet provides a effective way for video distribution. But CCN is user-driven, there is no traffic to user unless the user request a content first. It is a problem for CCN to push content to edge mirror servers of CDN. CDN uses SEEDs to publish content information to edge servers in CCN in order to distribute video content.
