A signed constant modulus algorithm for equalization of underwater acoustic channel

A sign constant modulus algorithm for QAM signal is presented.The cost function of CMA is modified by replacing the squared values by the absolute values,and a stochastic gradient algorithm to update the equalizer taps from this is proposed.Simulation result of underwater acoustic channel shows that the stability and residual mean square error of the proposed scheme and the CMA are approximately the same,but the convergence rates and the reducion of multiplications of the proposed scheme is superior to that of the CMA.
