Design and Simulation of Digital Filter Applied to Satellite DBS Tuner

To prevent the signal of terrestrial UHF channels to reach satellite DBS tuner and reduce its sensitivity,a high-pass filter is needed for the input of set-top boxes.Some performance indexes of filter sultable for the satellite DBS tuner are given based on the analysis of satellite and terrestrial TV signals.A high-pass IIR filter which meets the special requirements was designed with FDTTool in Matlab software.The amplitude-frequency and phase frequency response curves are given.The simulation shows that the design results can meet the requirements well and the design procedure is simple and practical.
