Testing and estimation of Interprocess communication performance within a host
Min Wang · Journal of Changchun Post and Telecommunication Institute · 2003
The communication between processes within a host is an important method to interact between processes; its performance can directly decide usability and efficiency of the application. The principles of the three fundamental methods (pipe, Shared memory, socket) of InterProcess communication within a host are introduced; the relevant programs have been implemented based on Linux by using C language. The results of performance tests show communication performance is different to the different length of the message by using different methods.
