Refactoring-improvement of J2EE application performance

Lots of applications no not reach the performance goal set by the service level agreement when delivery even though they were well designed and carefully developed. The performance refactoring is needed. The process that the performance refactoring should follow is studied with the J2EE applications. How to refactor the application for the performance with an example of J2EE website is demonstrated.
