Analysis of Page Reference Sequence's Effecting on LRU Page Replacement

Virtual memory page replacement is an important part of virtual memory management.Improving virtual memory page replacement can reduce page fault rate,and therefore improve the performance of the system.Least Reference Used(LRU) page replacement is the current common used page replacement.In this paper,classifies page reference sequence into LRU-friendly page reference sequence,LRU-unfriendly page reference sequence,unfriendly page reference sequence.The classification is based on the analysis of page reference sequence's effect on LRU page replacement.This would provide theoretics of improving LRU page replacement.
