Integrating Ajax Approach into WebGIS

Much attention is abstracted by Google Maps' Ajax Client.So this paper discussed why and how to integrate Ajax approach into WebGIS.Firstly,the client pattern based on Ajax approach and OGC specifications was discussed after analyzing Ajax Model and Google Maps.As a case study of design model and function extension of MapBuilder,an Ajax client application was discussed in detail.Finally,the authors briefly presented the prototype of Water Environment Information System of Huaihe River based on GeoServer and MapBuilder.
